How fun is this green color & it’s natural without food coloring??
No food coloring need bc the chlorophyll in sunflower seeds reacts with baking soda when baked. This causes the green color once cookies have cooled. A fun science lesson for baking with the kiddos too!
As always, easy one bowl recipe. GF, DF, Nut free, paleo/vegan options, sugar free and keto/low carb.

Love it! And by the way, I call it St. Patty’s day too! My mom is a Patricia and it has always been that to me!

Awe love that! 💚🍀
You mention not powder baking soda? What should I use?

thepeachiespoon replied:
Correct baking soda not baking powder. The baking powder won’t make them green. Baking soda!💚
Please correct the title – it’s St Patricks or St Paddy’s Day. Patty is for Patricia.

Can I make these like regular chocolate chip cookies with flour and sugar eggs and the sunflower butter and baking soda?

thepeachiespoon replied:
It should work yes!
It is not a vegan option if there is beef collagen and no substitute listed for it. Could you please list the actual vegan alternative ingredient? Thank you!

You could try with a vegan protein but they may be a bit dry. I haven’t tried a swap. Collagen makes them chewy and is my cookie preference 💚
