How fun is this green color & it’s natural without food coloring??
No food coloring need bc the chlorophyll in sunflower seeds reacts with baking soda when baked. This causes the green color once cookies have cooled. A fun science lesson for baking with the kiddos too!
As always, easy one bowl recipe. GF, DF, Nut free, paleo/vegan options, sugar free and keto/low carb.

I’m not a fan of coconut flour, would Almond flour work for the experiment?

Should work but 1/4 c coconut flour = 1 c almond flour. It’ll add much more fat too!
mine finally turned green after letting them cool for several hours! I didn’t see anywhere you had to wait but I did read on a different recipe!

They get more and more green each day! If you used sunflower butter + baking soda
I followed this recipe to the T just used a different collagen brand and they are not green at all 😅

The collagen isn’t what makes them green. It’s the baking soda + sunflower butter. Did you use those? Sometimes they get much greener the second day
What is Baking Soda (not powder)?

Baking soda, not baking powder
