How fun is this green color & it’s natural without food coloring??
No food coloring need bc the chlorophyll in sunflower seeds reacts with baking soda when baked. This causes the green color once cookies have cooled. A fun science lesson for baking with the kiddos too!
As always, easy one bowl recipe. GF, DF, Nut free, paleo/vegan options, sugar free and keto/low carb.

It worked! I ruined the magic though and thought it would happen right away. (Who else loves a super hot gooey cookie right out of the oven?!) They turned secretly green as soon as they were cool! Very fun. I used granular monk fruit and they really aren’t sweet at all, which made my kids only want to play with them, not eat them. 🤣

Ha love it!
Mine worked!! I’m so excited for my boys to try them! Do you have to store them in the refrigerator? Also wondering if they reheat well. I love a hot cookie, but definitely wanted to wait for the green!

Yay! Yes to the fridge and microwave it for 20 sec or so
Such a fun concept! Would love to do this with my kiddos, but can’t do coconut. Any tips on a coconut flour substitute? Thank you!

Any flour works but 1/4 c coconut flour = 1 cup all other flours
These are a blast! The flavor and consistency are perfect!

How long until the inside turns green? It’s been over 4 hours and no green. Bought fresh baking soda too.

For some, it takes longer. No clue why. Def by the next day
