
Low sugar, non alcoholic, but you can totally booze it up if desired.
Every holiday season I have friends and followers asking for a blood sugar-friendly apple cider or cranberry spiced smell good cozy drink, and I couldn’t find one online so I finally made up my own. 🍑🥳 This recipe makes 7 cups so double or triple for a large party.
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
3 cups water
4 cinnamon Apple Spice tea bags (celestial seasonings brand)
1 orange, sliced (and more to garnish)
Optional desired rum or whiskey, if adding
Optional desired sweetener, if adding (I like it without)
Optional Garnishes :
Desired fresh cranberries, orange slices, rosemary twigs, & cinnamon sticks to garnish (if desired)
STEPS:
SLOW COOKER
1)Combine cranberry juice, 4 tea bags, and a few orange slices in the slow cooker.
2)Heat on low for 2-4 hours, or until hot and the flavors are well infused. Remove tea bags after 2-3 hours. Keep on warm, up to all day
3)Remove the tea bags before serving.
4)Divide into individual mugs, garnish and enjoy, or stir in the desired amount of rum or Jack Daniel’s into each mug if you’re boozing🥃it up! If adding to the whole pot, 1 cup should work
STOVETOP
1)In a large stock pot, bring cranberry juice, 4 tea bags, and orange slices to a boil. Reduce to a simmer.
2)Cover and simmer on low for about 10 minutes. Reduce heat and keep warm until ready to serve. Remove tea bags after 2-3 hours if simmering longer.
It smells so good if you want to simmer all day.
3)Divide into individual mugs, garnish and enjoy, or stir in the desired amount of rum or Jack Daniel’s into each mug if you’re boozing it up! Or add 1 cup to the whole batch.
