Protein Hot Cocoa

A delicious and protein-packed twist on the classic winter beverage. To make this cozy treat, start with 1 cup of your preferred milk. I used unsweetened almond milk for a nutty undertone. Add 1 serving of your favorite flavored protein powder to boost the protein content.

Incorporate 1-2 tablespoons of cacao powder, adjusting based on your preference for a richer dark chocolate flavor. Sweeten your hot cocoa to taste with 1 tablespoon of granulated monk fruit or your sweetener of choice. This step is optional, especially if your protein powder is already sweetened.

For an extra layer of flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract. This step is also optional but adds a delightful touch. Warm your protein hot cocoa on the stovetop or in the microwave, stirring until all ingredients are well combined.

Pour into your favorite mug, cozy up, and enjoy a guilt-free Protein Hot Cocoa that not only warms you up but also provides a protein boost to your day!

INGREDIENTS

  1. On a stove top heat milk and other ingredients over med heat.
  2. Whisk constantly to combine until the preferred temperature is reached. Don’t allow to boil. Mine took 2-3 min.

**You can also just heat the milk in the microwave for 1-2 min and pour all ingredients in a blender and blend for more froth. That’s what I do the most.

Hi, I want to ask some questions. So when you put a T of monk fruit that means tablespoon? Also wouldn’t that be too strong? Also it says gran, is that different from the powder? Thanks!

Capital T is tablespoon yes but you can tweak that of course. I usually use a monk blend that’s 1:1 with sugar so you may have a more concentrated version. Gran is granulated so just not liquid, although any type would work with this recipe.

I’m enjoying my first cup of this delicious cocoa! I got a little aggressive with the extra-dark cocoa and used 2 generous T. Next time, I’ll cut it back to one. I’ve added a topping of cold foam. Out of this world!
