Holiday Dipping Oil

Easy, quick, and always a winner! No cooking required and pretty for an appetizer at any get-together. I try to skip “naked carbs” with my blood sugar so this adds some healthy fats and even a little protein in the parm to enjoy. Hope you love this one.

INGREDIENTS

1 tsp dried rosemary

1/2 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried sage

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

pinch red pepper flakes (optional, spicy)

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 c olive oil

1 tsp maple syrup or honey (sugar-free maple works too)

1/2 lemon, zested

2 T dried cranberries, chopped (used Ocean Spray 50% less sugar)

1/4 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese

desired warm baguette for dipping

STEPS

1)Combine dry herbs, spices, minced garlic, maple/honey, lemon zest, cranberries, and parm. in a shallow dish or wide bowl

2)Pour olive oil over mixture. Stir to combine and allow to sit 15-30 minutes for the flavors to marry and blend. Top with fresh rosemary sprigs for a pretty party plate, if desired. Makes 8 - 1 Tablespoon servings.
