Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing & Marinade

Elevate your salads with the classic and versatile Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing & Marinade. This recipe combines the bold flavor of balsamic vinegar with the richness of avocado or olive oil, creating a harmonious base. The addition of Dijon or spicy mustard introduces a subtle kick, while honey provides a touch of sweetness. Infused with the aromatic essence of garlic, either freshly minced or in the form of garlic powder, and the mild shallot, this dressing achieves a perfect balance of savory and sweet. INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 c balsamic vin

  • 1/4 c water

  • 2 T avocado or olive oil

  • 1 T Dijon or spicy mustard

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 clove garlic, minced or 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 shallot minced or 1 tsp onion powder.

  • 1/2 tsp each salt & pepper

STEPS

  1. Shake up ingredients in a jar with a lid. Good for 2 weeks in the fridge. If using later, remove from the fridge to thaw and soften. Shake well before using.

  2. If used as a marinade, pour over the desired type of meat. Cover, and refrigerate for up to 12 hours. Cook meat as desired

These recipes are all low in oil so a great addition to higher fat meats like salmon, red meats, and dark meat chicken/turkey. But honestly great with anything anytime because they aren’t a fat or starch source really, just a flavor party. They’re great on pasta salads, fresh salad greens, wraps, slaw, or any cauli or rice bowl with a protein. Making your food taste good is a fun and vital part of feeling satisfied and nourished.
