For most people, Thanksgiving is a day of indulgence – and that’s okay!
It’s absolutely possible to enjoy all of the turkey day fixings and still reach your wellness goals.
It’s just one meal. What matters most are the choices you make and the habits you practice the other 300+ days a year.
So don’t feel guilty about going all out or try to “healthify” the family recipes. Instead, check out my top tips for a guilt-free Thanksgiving.
TIP 1: OWN IT
What you eat (or don’t) is entirely up to you. Want that slice of pie? Go for it (no guilt required). Don't let grandma pressure you into eating past fullness, if you don't want to!
TIP 2: DON'T PUNISH YOURSELF
When you choose to indulge, don’t try to compensate by overexercising or overrestricting yourself later. If you struggle with food guilt, consider praying before a meal and reminding yourself that all foods are okay in moderation.
TIP 3: SKIP THE DIET TALK
If people at the table start speaking about their latest fad diet, steer the conversation towards what you’re each grateful for. After all, isn’t that what Thanksgiving is all about?
